2005-2006 Walkersville Lions

 

(8 Nov 2005) This weekend the club will play in the 7th Annual Frederick Cup, a Pre-Season High School Hockey Tournament, at Skate Frederick. Approximately 30 high school teams are participating.  Walkersville will play Middletown on Thursday at 5:40 PM. The Saturday game is against Heritage at 1:45 and on Sunday against Langley at 12:40pm.

 

(8 Nov 2005) Lions defeat Frederick, 10-3.  Goals were scored by Adam Forsberg, Brad Barnes, Nick Wetzel, Paul Chamberlain, Ben Arnold, Nathan Miller, and Nathan Gray.  Assists were made by Nick Wetzel, Nathan Gray, Ben Arnold, Nathan Miller, Brad Barnes, Josh Glorioso, Adam Forsberg, and Chance Shaw. Goal keeper Brad Stone had 7 saves.

(5 Oct 2005)  In an effort to recognize the existence of the Walkersville Ice Hockey Club, the club will be participating in this year’s Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 28, 2005 @ 5pm.  The club will be wearing their Maryland Scholastic Hockey League home jerseys and their inline skates.  Bring your sticks too!!!  It would be so awesome to have 100% team participation!  Parade line up begins at 4pm in the Walkersville MS parking lot.  Parents are welcomed and encouraged to walk along too!  Wear your Lions Manes!  Bring a copy of your birth certificate to Sunday's game vs. Frederick. Sunday's game is at 5:30, try to be there 1 hour before. Start turning in your ads for the booklet as you get them. The first $100 of the team fee is due October 15, with the balance due on November 1. If you raise $330 in ads, you will owe nothing.

(14 Sep 2005) In-House Evaluations are Sunday at 7:00pm.  Practices are on Mondays from 9:00-9:50pm.  The first practice will be on Monday, September 26.

                        Sept 18 - In-house registration due, In-house evaluations

                        Sept 19 or 26 - First Practice

    -Team meeting after school Wednesday, Sept 14 for current, new, and interested players.

    -Kick-off get together at the Wetzel's house on Thursday, Sept. 15.  Bring ideas for fund raising, activities outside the rink, and your bathing suit.

 

(5 Sep 2005) Practices are Monday nights at 9:00 PM this season.  The first practice date is not known yet.  The High School Preseason Tournament is November 11-13.

The Walkersville High Hockey Club (WHHC) is a varsity member of the Maryland Scholastic Hockey League and is comprised solely of students from Walkersville High School.  However, WHHC is not affiliated with Walkersville High School in any way.
